Our School Family

The First Baptist Church of Clarendon Child Development Center takes great pride in its teachers, all of whom bring valuable expertise, dedication, and a love of children. The success your child will enjoy this year is the result of the gifts and talents of each committed member of the FBCC CDC school family.

“Young children are at the center of my heart,” Secethia, Executive Director

Secethia, Executive Director, is entering her 39th year with the FBCC CDC where she has served as a Teacher’s Aide, an Assistant Teacher and Assistant Director. In May 1998, she received the Northern Virginia Outstanding Service to Children Award. She enjoys reading literature, Country French and Tuscan antiquing, traveling, hiking, gardening, and gourmet cooking.

Julie, Assistant Director, is honored to be a part of the FBCC CDC family which she joined in March 1984. Julie served the children and families of the CDC for 15 years as a Lead Teacher and 5 years as Infant and Toddler Program Coordinator. Julie enjoys watching football, spending time with her family and friends.

Our Teaching Teams

The dedicated staff of the First Baptist Church of Clarendon Child Development Center is committed to providing a healthy and nurturing environment in which your child can learn and grow.  Each staff member undergoes a combined criminal history/sex offender background check, a physical examination with TB screening, and agrees to participate in a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of professional development training, workshops and/or classes every year. Most of our staff hold a Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field, and our teacher’s aides are encouraged to pursue a Child Development Associate (CDA) degree program or minimum of ninety hours of a credential training program.
