Guided by the philosophies of the care and education model of High/Scope, a developmental framework providing meaningful and realistic care and educational opportunities for all learners of all ages, in all stages of development, of all abilities, of all types of learning styles and all types of intelligence. The fundamental premise of the High/Scope Educational Approach is that human beings are active learners from birth who construct knowledge from meaningful interactions with the ideas, concepts, materials and persons in their immediate environment and community-that they are active learners who learn best from pursuing their own interests while being actively supported and challenged by caring adults.
This participatory learning model is enhanced by practices of Resources for Infant Educarers, Montessori and Reggio Emilia, along with a non-denominational Christian Education and Character Education program the FBCC CDC serves children ages 3 months through 5 years old.
